Bowland Village Inns are recruiting for a Second Chef based at Ashton Hall. Bowland Village Inns manages the food and beverage department at Ashton Hall Lancaster - the prestigious home of Lancaster Golf Club.
We are looking for a strong Second Chef with a professional approach to work closely with our Group Executive Chef. You will be responsible for the day to day running of the kitchen and the delivery of quality food to members, guests & visitors – from a daily snacks menu through to catering for weddings and private functions.
The ideal candidate will have experience of weddings and banqueting for numbers in excess of 150, demonstrate a hands-on approach and have the ability to manage, motivate and inspire a small team. The use of “Rational Self Cook Centre” is an advantage but not essential.
Excellent organization and strong leadership skills are required along with the ability to consistently deliver a high quality of food, service and presentation, with effective management of stock and cost control.
Duties include:
• Responsibility for food service, including banqueting & lounge service.
• Stock control management
• Train and supervise all staff within your areas of control.
• Ensure rotas are completed and control of wage costs are met within the department.
• Adhere to all Health & Hygiene regulations
You will:
• Be guest orientated and service minded.

• Have Good Financial Management.
